"Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte said Page had "no excuse" for not appearing, and threatened to have her charged with contempt if she did not show up to testify by Friday".
She is facing charges of contempt of Congress after failing to appear Wednesday for private meetings with the Judiciary and Oversight committees.
Jeffress said she received a message from the Department of Justice at 11 p.m. on Tuesday night granting Page's request to review documents related to the investigation.
"She was a part of the mess that we uncovered over at DOJ", said Ryan, a Wisconsin Republican.
Republican lawmakers on the House Judiciary Committee are now weighing whether to pursue contempt measures against Page, who first came to their attention over a series of anti-Trump text messages she exchanged with Peter Strzok, then a top Federal Bureau of Investigation counterterrorism official, with whom she was having an affair.
Strzok previously served as the chief of the FBI's counterespionage section and played a role in the early days of special counsel Robert MuellerRobert Swan MuellerSasse: US should applaud choice of Mueller to lead Russian Federation probe MORE's investigation into Russia's role in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with Moscow.
The committee had scheduled Page's closed-door testimony one day before Strzok is set to testify publicly before the Judiciary and Oversight committees.
The Judiciary Committee also held a contentious hearing June 28 with FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

The president has repeatedly painted Mueller's investigation as a tainted witch-hunt led by Democrats.
House Republicans have suggested the Federal Bureau of Investigation was conspiring against Trump during and after his presidential campaign, and the two committees are investigating decisions made by the agency and the Justice Department during the 2016 presidential election. The DOJ watchdog published a report last month that revealed messages between Strzok and Page which suggested the two of them, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, would try and stop Trump from getting elected.
Page also briefly served on Mueller's investigative team until the revelations of her texts with Strzok. "This is an example of a congressional committee trying to find a "gotcha moment" instead of legitimately investigating Justice Department policies and practices".
In a letter to her lawyer Amy Jeffress, Goodlatte said she had a choice of appearing publicly along with Strzok in a hearing on Thursday, or accepting to be deposed privately on Friday at 10:00 am.
Mueller, a Republican, removed Strzok from the inquiry when he learned about the text exchanges and Page has left the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
But her lawyer said Page will testify at some point.
Strzok had a leading role in the Clinton probe and was removed from the Mueller investigation after the texts were discovered a year ago.
He added: "How can the Rigged Witch Hunt proceed when it was started, influenced and worked on, for an extended period of time, by former FBI Agent/Lover Peter Strzok?".
