Golden State and Cleveland to face off for fourth straight NBA Finals

"King James" had the last laugh, though, guiding the Cavaliers to an 87-79 victory Sunday at TD Garden in Boston.

As I said, the game was not a pretty one to watch. Playing in every game for the Cavs, James has led a roster that has been a constant turnstile of players to the NBA Finals.

The team that employs James has now won six straight Game 7s, two on the road.

His eighth straight NBA Finals sets up as one of his most hard, flanked by a largely unheralded set of teammates who force him to do much more at 33 than most other players are ever asked. I mean, by now you know the drill.

"I'm the leader of this team, and I'm going to give what I've got".

Thomas, whose Detroit Pistons beat Jordan's Chicago Bulls in back-to-back Eastern Conference finals en route to titles in 1989 and 1990, appeared on ESPN's "Get Up" on Monday and addressed the debate.

Love has a history of concussion problems, missing games last March and in Game 2 of the 2016 Finals. He started for Kevin Love and scored 19 points with eight rebounds, and provided the versatility to switch onto any Boston player on defense in what was Cleveland's best defensive performance statistically of the entire season.

The Celtics have seen him do it, after he averaged 33.6 points, 9.0 rebounds and 8.4 assists to eliminate them in the East finals for the second straight year.

James said he knew ahead of time he was going to have to play 48 minutes. "It shows the hard work, the team that we have, how hard we've worked to prove everybody wrong, prove the doubters wrong".

Trungelliti, a 28-year-old Argentine ranked 190th, lost in qualifying at Roland Garros and then headed home to Spain. Safwat, the first man from Egypt to play in a main draw match of a major since Tamer El Sawy at the 1996 U.S.

It's fair to say James was pacing himself in the first half. Jaylen Brown, another star in-the-making. They also benefited from poor Boston shooting.

The Boston Celtics have not lost at home in the 2018 postseason heading into Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. So instead of always slowing the pace, James often attacked to catch the Celtics off-guard before they could set up their defence. Marcus Smart was 1-of-10.

The Celtics have had more time to get used to their injuries: Gordon Hayward has been out since the first game of the season, and Kyrie Irving has been sidelined since March.

"It's definitely tough, but we have nothing to hang our heads about", Horford said. He exhausted late in Game 5, when the Celtics won their 10th straight at home this postseason.

Not a lot of people believed that the Cleveland Cavaliers would have enough talent to make it to the NBA Finals in 2018. The other was over the Pacers in the first round. Remember, that was without rest. They need to step back and focus only on whats in front of them.

End of quarter: Celtics 43, Cavs 39: Cavs somehow only down four heading into halftime.

Come next season, James could find himself in a new place, leading a new team to newfound heights. The Celtics were held to just 13 points in the quarter and missed all seven 3s.

James just made sure it wasn't him. In games that were within five points in the final five minutes this season, Cleveland was 30-15 with a +18.2 points per 100 net rating (second best in the National Basketball Association, behind Houston).
