Sources tell KSN media partners Antoine Fielder allegedly shot and killed Wyandotte County Deputy Patrick Rohrer, 35, and Theresa King, 44, as he was being transferred from the Wyandotte County Courthouse.

The suspect was also shot and was being treated at the same hospital.

Police Chief Terry Zeigler said on Twitter that the department is working a major incident but provided no further details.

Earlier Friday Deputy Patrick Rohrer died shortly after the shooting at KU Med from his injuries, authorities said.

Two inmates were being transported from the Wyandotte County Correctional and Court Services Building on 7th Street. The deadly altercation took place about 11:30 a.m. when the two Wyandotte County sheriff's deputies in Kansas City pulled into the parking lot and were readying to transport inmates to court, said Kelli Bailiff of the sheriff's office.
