Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has stated publicly the club met with Antoine Griezmann's agent in October amid reports of a move.

Griezmann has a €100m (£87.9m) release clause in his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Suarez has suggested that the 27-year-old forward, would be making a move to Camp Nou this summer.

Bartomeu told RAC1: "We do not talk about players from other teams, we'll analyse the season and we'll see what we do with arrivals and departures". I have not spoken to him this year but I did speak to his agent in October.

Bartomeu has now said talks had taken place between the club and Griezmann's representatives earlier in the season. He rules up front for Atlético Madrid and that is fundamental.

Before Griezmann suits up for Les Bleus in Russian Federation next month, Atletico will face Marseille in the Europa League Final on May 16 in Lyon.
