Utah Jazz-Pelicans: Keys to winning the series matchup against the Pels


The New Orleans Pelicans announced that superstar big man Anthony Davis will play Sunday against the Utah Jazz.

Davis suffered the injury during New Orleans' 114-101 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

Jrue Holiday had 18 points and 10 assists for the Pelicans, but missed 12 of 19 shots, turned the ball over four times and struggled defensively against Utah's backcourt tandem of Rubio and Mitchell while guarding each at various points during the game.

The Jazz (37-30) were led by Ricky Rubio who tallied a game-high 30 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

Whistles changed the dynamic of the game after the Jazz took a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Season series: The Jazz clinched the season series over New Orleans with Sunday's victory, picking up three wins in the four head-to-head matchups between the squads.

The Pelicans return to action Tuesday at 7 p.m.as they welcome in the Charlotte Hornets. Tuesday's matchup will be the final contest of New Orleans' current three-game homestand.
