A U.S. school was put into lockdown after a shooting threat was allegedly written on a bathroom wall.

"Once the threat was determined to be unrelated to Righetti and St. Joseph High Schools the lockdown was lifted just before 11:30 a.m. this morning", she said. "However, an image of an Instagram post threatening a shooting is circulating online".

This is the message written on the bathroom wall.

Organizers of the Righetti High School event conducted a rally at the school amphitheater during their lunch period after the lockdown, a district spokesman said.

The written threat says: "I'm shooting the school tomorrow at 1. Better not come. F*ck this place".

Atlantic City High School was placed on a lockdown Wednesday after a threat was made against the school.

Police in cooperation with Dollars 259 began investigating the case immediately and worked through the night.

Police are working with district and school staff to ensure safety on the campus and to systematically inspect the school grounds. "There is no indication of a threat that took place or will take place". "I don't know if it was a hoax, but we take everything seriously, and as of right now, there's no credibility to weapons". "We made a decision to work with the school and clear the grounds today - just as a precaution".

After the lockdown ended, one student said he hid in a closet during the incident.

According to a Sheriff's Office release, the text apparently threatened violence during the planned National School Walkout to commemorate the one-month anniversary of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

Students their way up East Washington Ave toward the state capital during a walkout to protest gun violence. Caldwell said the walkout was canceled but the names of the victims were read aloud over the school intercom.

Police say this student acted alone.

In addition to the Atascadero High threat, a small shell casing was found in the parking lot of Monterey Road Elementary School in Atascadero.

People on Twitter reported that the school has been on lockdown for more than three hours.
