Allegiant Air today announced new nonstop service from Nashville, Tennessee to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport beginning June 8.
The new route is expected to bring almost 11,000 additional visitors to the area, according to a press release.
The new Allegiant flights will begin service the same day Southwest Airlines is scheduled to end service in Flint. "The Eugene community has been very supportive of us, and we're pleased to be able to provide them with convenient, nonstop service to enjoy all that sunny destination has to offer".
One-way promotional fares on the new route start at $68. Service to Nashville begins June 8 with fares as low as $47.
Bears place transition tag on Fuller
By using the tag, the Bears have until July 16 to work out a multiyear deal with Fuller , which seems to be their intention. The transition tag differs from the exclusive franchise tag, in that the player can negotiate with other teams.
"We applaud Allegiant's decision to include Savannah/Hilton Head as one of the first airports for its new Nashville service", Stephen Green, chairman of Savannah Airport Commission, said in the news release. The others are Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Tampa-St.
However, "the new service does qualify for the [airport] authority's air service incentive program, which will include a combination of fee waivers and marketing support in accordance with the authority's guidelines and parameters", Callahan added in an email response.
"Allegiant is really helping us "put the fun back in flying" by adding two more nonstop destinations from Bishop International Airport", said Airport Director Craig Williams.
