Get Out Returning to AMC Theaters For Free Screenings

Hide the teaspoons: To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the release of Get Out, writer-director Jordan Peele is giving away tickets to a free 7 p.m. screening on Presidents' Day.

This week, the comedian announced plans to bring the Oscar-nominated film back to theaters this President's Day.

The free screenings will take place at 55 theaters across the country - including at the AMC Elmwood Palace in Harahan - on President's Day, which is Monday (Feb. 19).

Previously held by Intel's high water mark of 500 drones flying together in 2016, the 1,218 drone flight will be a historic one. The XXIII Olympic Winter Games is being held in Pyeongchang, South Korea from February 9 to 25.

The promotion will be available at each of the 55 AMC Theaters playing the special screening of "Get Out" at 7 p.m. February 19. It also happens to fall on Presidents' Day. "The success of his stunning vision would not have been possible without the audience's passion for both 'Get Out's groundbreaking storytelling and its deft use of art as society's mirror".

Get Out's official Twitter account shared the news on Tuesday, with a video of Peele. Each guest must present a valid ID to receive a ticket, with a limit of one free ticket for each ID presented, while supplies last. Nearly a year later after its theatrical release, the film has not only found critic acclaim but its also history-making.

Made for less than $5 million, "Get Out" earned more than $250 million in the box office worldwide.
