Elon Musk's 'Super Terrible Idea': a $500 Flamethrower

Many believed Musk was joking - but fast forward a month and customers can pre-order a flamethrower (which operates more like a giant butane torch) from The Boring Company's website.

The flamethrower is believed to be legal in the United States, as according to Musk, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms allows a weapon with a flame shorter than 10ft. Elon Musk, in his usual attitude, predicted the zombie apocalypse and described the flamethrower as an effective way of handling the zombie outbreak.

According to one person on Reddit, the page said that The Boring Company's flamethrower will ship in April. As of early Monday, Musk indicated on Twitter they'd sold 7,000 units, which would equal around $3.5 million. Musk did mention, however, that after the flamethrowers are sold out, The Boring Company Freezegun would be next.

They even sell a Boring Company fire extinguisher, an invaluable tool for any sucker who plays with a flamethrower without knowing how to use it. The shipping begins in Spring.

Foreign fighters in Syria turn their weapons on Turkey
The operation - dubbed "Olive Branch" - was launched on January 20 and focuses on a Kurdish-held area close to the Turkish border. Just last week, Erdogan promised to "drown" Kurdish forces that the United States is training near Syria's border with Turkey.

"Guaranteed to liven up any party!" website pitches of the device.

Boring Co. was founded in late 2016 to satisfy Musk's ambitions to build underground transportation systems. The Boring Company says it's also selling the device overseas, though it remains a mystery how it will skirt stricter weapons regulations. Musk said on Sunday that 2,000 of the devices had already been ordered. He added "I want to be clear that a flamethrower is a super awful idea", just not so bad that his company shouldn't make and sell one. A potential proud owner would also need to agree to terms and conditions, sent ahead of the flamethrower's purchase. If that didn't seem absurd enough, maybe his next venture will-bring in The Boring Company. Now they're at it again, but this time they're offering something a little hotter: a flamethrower.

The next Borderlands game hasn't been revealed but we know that the title is under development.
