BJP will not only do as well as it did in 2014 in key states such as Uttar Pradesh (where it won 73 of 80 Lok Sabha seats) but also make gains in Odisha, West Bengal and the North-East, Shah said. Pro-Kannada outfits observed a dawn to dusk bandh on Thursday demanding the intervention of PM Modi to solve the Mahadayi river water row with neighbouring Goa.

Former Prime Minister and Janatal Dal (S) president H.D. Deve Gowda has termed the Congress chief-minister Siddaramaiah's Govt.in the State as the "worst" he has ever seen in his life.

Shah also hit out at the Congress government in the state for not acting against the attacks on members of BJP and Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh (RSS).

The war of words between Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah intensfied on Friday with the Congress leader calling the latter an "ex-jailbird". Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to justice to Muslim sisters and mothers by passing the bill and providing justice to them, he said.

BJP sources claimed that Shah's rally was attended by close to 50,000 people, ignoring the bandh call.

Reliance Jio launches Republic Day 2018 plans
Reliance Jio has announced 50% more data on all its tariff plans with effect from January 26, according to company sources. The Rs. 398 plan gives 70 days validity with 140GB data, while the Rs. 448 plan gives 84 days validity with 168GB data.

He urged people not to vote for the Congress as it would support the "arrogance and egotism of Mr. Siddaramaiah". With the entry of actors Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth into politics, Shah said, equations in the state have changed and involve more than just the two mainstream parties that have dominated for the past five decades -the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). He said that the BJP, if elected to power, will hunt down the killers irrespective of where they were hiding.

At the BJP's really, Shah told party workers, "Despite the desperate attempt by the Congress to prevent the holding of this rally, we have been able to hold it successfully".

"Siddaramaiah government has crossed all boundaries of corruption". Shah said, "Congress has not forgotten its Emergency culture".

He said over 20 Hindu activists had been killed in Karnataka but Siddaramaiah did not ban the SDPI and PFI and even taken back cases against the killers.

Shah challenged Siddaramaiah to stop the BJP from forming the government in Karnataka using all his might.
